goal of Alternative Energy Ways is to provide our visitors and
subscribers with clear, concise, and reliable information relating to
our energy use and how it affects the world that we live in.
In
the foreseeable future the disagreements about global warming, the
ozone hole, and CO2 will likely continue. No matter where you stand on
those issues, you can probably agree with me that:
- It is reasonable for us to reduce the amount of energy that we each use.
- We can begin replacing the fossil fuels that we use as it becomes feasable.
- That saving energy and adopting alternatives can allow us to individually save money.
- That we can be proactive in making these changes, prompting others to do the same.
I'm
Sam Shock, founder of Alternative Energy Ways. I do not believe that we
can change the world in one fell swoop, but I do believe that we can
each make incremental changes in our little corner. We can make these
changes in large or small steps as we see fit and in ways that will
save us money while benefitting the environment.
This site is a tool to for me to help you discover what you can do. There are products and information on the market
that are great things and should be put to use. There are others that
should be ignored, and there are some that have solid basis but are not
ready for widespread use for one reason or another.
I hope that you find this site helpfull. If you have a
question about a product or an idea related to energy, please let me
know by e-mail at sam@altenergyways.com and we will look for the truth.Sam The FTC Disclaimer You have probably noticed the below:
FTC Disclaimer:
AltEnergyWays is a commercial website and offers both in-house and
affiliate products for sale in addition to providing free information.
As such, actions of visitors to this site may result in compensation
being paid to the site owner.
The reason for this disclaimer is to operate within the
guidelines of the Federal Trade Commission. On Dec. 1, 2009 the FTC
began enhanced enforcement of its regulations. The action was, of
course, aimed at marketers who operated in the gray area of proper
conduct. It also encouraged most others to step up their efforts to
comply with fair trade practices.
One part
of the FTC's efforts was aimed at results claims and testimonials.
Advertisers must be fair and honest about them and be able to prove
their claims to avoid fines and possibly stronger sanctions.
There were also "review sites" that promoted
products by offering a review and recommendation with a link to
purchase the product. Quite often it was not clear that the owner of
the review site would be paid a commission on the sale of the
recommended item. Whose opinion would you trust, that of someone with
no financial interest in your purchase, or a salesperson on commission?
The FTC cracked down on sites that hide their financial interest in
selling products.
I, and most other site
owners on the internet, want you to be informed and realize that while
we want to provide you with trustworthy information and products, we
operate a business and must make a living. Like a salesman in a brick
and mortar store, I try to provide you with the best value that I can. I simply operate in the virtual world. |
